XPD Adventure Race
Congratulation Muppets - completing such a grueling course, and to all the competitors in the xpd a fantastic effort. 90 teams of four from 22 countries will race in Tasmania, making it the largest Adventure Racing World Championships ever held. Starting Wednesday 2nd November, teams will race day and night over a 700km course in the disciplines of trekking, kayaking, mountain biking and roping. They are provided a course booklet and maps 24hrs before the start. The course booklet contains the location of each of the race checkpoints. To complete the course teams must navigate through all the checkpoints and arrive at the finish line at Race HQ in Burnie.
During the event, a live race website is run. It captures all the news, images and video of the race. Teams carry tracking devices throughout and are visible to spectators through the live race website. http://www.trackmelive.com.au/xpd2011/
